Mr Thornberry vs. Angel, Can One Task Manager Conquer Office Hell?

Mr. Thornberry's wrath hung heavy; each missed deadline was a ticking bomb. His profanity storms were legendary, leaving everyone cowering beneath their own spreadsheets.

"Angel!" his thunderous bellow echoed through the office. "The Q4 report? Where in the fiery depths is it?"

Angel swallowed, her usual retort dying in her throat. How many times had she explained the content blizzard threatening to bury her?

She was already overwhelmed with work, and his outbursts decreased her productivity even more. All she asked for was a Mac Task Manager or Windows Task Manager to help organize and streamline activities, but each plea was met with an eye roll and a dismissive, "Handle it, Angel. I don’t want to hear of this anymore."

Before landing at Mr. Thornberry's hell, Angel worked at a seemingly ideal company, but beneath the shiny facade was manipulation and emotional abuse. From being vibrant and ambitious, she became emotionally drained. Leaving that company took everything she had and the experience left deep emotional scars. As she faced the crimson-faced hurricane that was Mr. Thornberry, it triggered that past trauma.

"Actually," she said, her voice surprisingly steady, "I have something to say."

Mr. Thornberry's eyebrows shot up. "Do you now? Well, spit it out before I turn blue from holding my breath!"

"Your temper tantrums," she continued, her voice laced with ice, "it’s a bottleneck, Mr. Thornberry. With all due respect, sir, I spend more time dealing with your outbursts than actually working. I also still believe that if you just listen for once and get a task management software like ILN, it could help me and maybe, just maybe, limit your eruptions."

Silence hung heavy in the air. Some colleagues exchanged stunned glances; others looked nervously at the door. The veins on Mr. Thornberry's forehead and fist were pulsing, ready to blow. In the stunned silence, Angel wished she could take every word back. But to her surprise, he smiled.

“Well, Angel, we’ll try your task manager out for one month. If it works, well done. But if it doesn’t… I guess you know what that means.” Then he walked off.

She sighed in relief. For the first time in months, she could breathe. She didn't feel like the puppet dangling on Mr. Thornberry's strings. This time, she held the end of the rope and she was learning to dance. She also had confidence in the task management for the next month because she trusted her handy-dandy task manager.

That night, after everyone had left, Mr. Thornberry snuck back into his office and tried out ILN’s task manager. He was surprised at how easy it was to use and how quickly he could organize his tasks. It was then that he began to realize that Angel was right all along.
